Accepting help: The love and kindness of others

One of the paths along this journey led me up to a very special and magical place... somewhere where the views are incredibly beautiful: The Valley of Friends!

Nothing prepared me for such a magnificent view, so mesmerizing it could be mistaken with a mirage!

From here I can see:

• Strongly rooted ancient trees 🌳

• Little seedlings I could bearly notice were there and yet keep blossoming into beautiful plants and flowers 🌱🌹

• Passing hikers that come and go and leave some presents behind πŸ₯Ύ

• Bird calls from dusk to dawn πŸ¦…πŸ¦‰

• And the incredible, vast sea where the tide comes and goes but is never too far out 🌊

Although this view was always there for me to admire, the everyday fog of daily life never allowed me to truly appreciate it!

The path... the valley... and all it's blessings needs to be nourished though! There is a two way system that I certainly had to learn to navigate: Accepting the help, the love and the kindness of others!

This is hard when you are so used to trailing the path by yourself and you are the one always leading the way, helping and doing everything for others!

It took me a long time to really accept such blessings without feeling the need to reciprocate every time someone wants to share their love.

From being treated to a cuppa, meal out, or gift, to receiving help with travel, accomodation and house chores... I had to understand that by allowing these incredibly beautiful souls to do something for me, I am in fact also doing something for them... I am giving them the 'gift of giving'! That's right, by receiving with gratitude we are allowing the giver to express their love towards us without having a 'door shut in their faces' by using sentences such as 'It's ok, I can do it!' ; 'I'll pay for this' ; I am ok, I don't need any help'... and so on!

It was quite a trek to arrive at the top of this mountain but I am so happy I can now travel so much lighter and left all unecessary baggage behind πŸŽ’

Anything that weighs us down and prevents us from moving forward needs to be reassessed and released. Only then we can grow and expand!

In my particular case, these were some of the items I left behind:

• Rigidity

• Control

• Carrying everyone's problems on my shoulders

• Fear

• Anger

• Open old wounds

Quite a backpack hey? No wonder it was so heavy!

I did not just dump the load to the curb overnight though... I had to carefully offload it at various points along the road!

These stops came in the form of holistic healing modalities, all very important pieces of my life's puzzle 🧩and the ones that helped me to understand the tapestry of my existence ✨️

This is indeed a magical place to arrive at and an excellent spot to set up camp and simply relax and contemplate its magnificence πŸ•πŸŒŒπŸŒ  so I will stay here for a while!

See you at the next adventure...
